Presently a c# web developer, having upgraded from Visual Basic desktop application development at the turn of the century.
I was lucky enough to exit my previous employment with a buyout, just prior to the start of the COVID-19 pandemic. That, together with my wife's continuing support of my coding pursuits, has provided me with the time and resources to work on my own project without the financial burden of doing so.
The project actually started in 1995 with my postgraduate studies at the University of Natal (South Africa), during which I produced two papers under the tutelage of the late professor Adolf Diegel (born 20th April 1935 - Krefeld, Germany and died 5th October 2012 - Durban, South Africa). These were entitled "Time Series Analysis of sales for Toyota passenger vehicles" (1996) and "Forecasting with Time Series Analysis" (1998), both of which made use of routines written in Pascal (Turbo) alongside those from Adolf written in Fortran, many, many years before.
After graduation I moved to the United Kingdom and while seeking employment there, rewrote many of the Pascal routines in (Borland) Delphi (1998). Work experience led my software development skills to become entirely focused on the Microsoft technology stack and the web, and I had intended to rewrite the routines again in Visual Basic, and then c# but never seemingly had enough free time.
A functioning SSC application is now the result of having had that time, studied statistical analysis and endured a working lifetime in programming.
